Size Guide, Charts & Tips

Quick size check. Order your usual shoe size, it’s that simple. As the manufacturer we pattern the boots with consideration and allowance for both the wool pile and stretch factor, so you don’t need to guess which size. If unsure of your sizing check a label inside your sport shoes/sneakers or casual shoes and use the conversion charts below if need be.

In our product listings, W means women, M means men, K means kids, and Y means youth.

Our size charts and measuring instructions do not take into consideration feet disorders or any diseases which affect the feet. All our sizing information is geared towards just regular feet that fit into regular shoes that can be purchased from any regular store. If you do have any medical condition which affect your feet, or your feet have considerable sensitivities, or you have trouble buying regular shoes from a regular store, please contact us for recommendations for UGG boots or Slippers that may be best suited for your feet.

  • Understanding Shoe Sizing and Tips for UGG Sizing.

Men's shoe sizes: There is no such thing as Australian men shoe sizes. In Australia, men's shoes come in either UK or US. Dress/business shoes are usually sized in UK sizing whereas Men's joggers or casual footwear are sized in US sizing. If unsure of your size, check the size label marked on your sport shoes/sneakers.

Women’s shoe sizes: There is no such thing as Australian women shoes sizes. It’s either US or EUR with US being the most used. If unsure of your size, check the size label marked on your sport shoes/sneakers.

Children’s shoe sizes: There is no such thing as Australian children’s shoes sizes. It’s either US or UK. If unsure of your child’s size, check the size label marked on their sport shoes/sneakers or school shoes. If the label only says AU it’s anyone’s guess whether the manufacturer has used US or UK so if this case you can measure the sole of an existing shoe and scroll to the very bottom of this page it determine which Mortels size it measures up against.

We don’t recommend going more than 1 additional size for your child for growth as they will ruin the boots more quickly if too big to start with by walking over the sides of them because as the boots slop about. Also it's not good for growing feet.

Girl’s feet generally stop growing in length at 13 years of age and Boy’s feet generally stop growing in length at 17 years of age.

Larger children's sizing does overlap with adult’s sizing. Our footwear is priced according to the size of the footwear, NOT priced for child or adult.

Why the need for this information?

It is certainly very annoying that there are so many footwear sizing conventions (systems) used around the world, such as US, UK, EUR, Mondopoint, and many more. And then throw in Men’s, Women’s and Children’s … and our own.

We use our own “Mortels” footwear sizing because we are a manufacturer producing a uni-sexed range of UGG boots and Slippers. Therefore, we do the conversion for you and based this conversion on the most used sizing convention in Australia which is the US sizing system.

We are in full sizes but for each style we make a recommendation for the half size, so check on the product page for that recommendation.

The one advantage sheepskin does have over regular shoes though, is it's ability to take on the form of your feet and stretch like no other shoes really can, particularly when it comes to the width of foot and leg. However let's be sensible about width. If you normally size up from what your foot length measurement comes out as, then you are best sticking with the size of the regular shoes you buy rather than basing your UGG boot or slipper purchase on the measurement of your foot.

You do not need to contact us because of width of feet. All feet vary in width. Regular UGG boots and Slippers are usually suitable up to an E fitting because of the stretch nature of sheepskin. However, if you are D or E fitting and your actual foot measurement indicates a smaller size than what you normally purchase in regular shoes, then it is best you order UGGs or slippers based on your regular shoe size, not order based on your foot length measurement.

Determine your size:

If unsure of size, please follow these steps to determine your size:

  1. Tape a sheet of paper to the floor, flush against the wall. Stand up straight on the sheet of paper with your heel up against the wall.
  2. Place a mark on the paper at the longest part of your foot. Repeat with the other foot, as right and left sizes may be different.
  3. Measure the heel (edge of paper)-to-toe length you marked for each foot.
  4. Taking the longest measurement (foot), use the conversion chart ABOVE to find your correct size.

Foot Notes:

  • Centimetre measurements are actual foot length, not shoe sole length.
  • Sizing Charts are indicative of foot length but doesn't allow for various foot and leg widths, high insteps, and any feet disorders.
  • Regular UGG boots and Slippers are usually suitable up to an E fitting because of the stretch nature of sheepskin. However, if you are D or E fitting and your actual foot measurement indicates a smaller size than what you normally purchase in regular shoes, then it is best you order UGGs or slippers based on your regular shoe size, not order based on your foot length measurement.
  • No returns of incorrect size will be accepted once footwear has been worn and stretched.
  • Be sure NOT to choose a larger size for fear of the UGG being too small - your footwear should be firm fitting when you receive them. Sheepskin will stretch and the wool pile will flatten and shape around your foot, giving a cosy, snugg fit. If they are too loose, as they wear in, they may become too roomy.
  • Larger Youth sizing overlaps with adult’s sizing. Our footwear is priced according to the size of the footwear, NOT priced for child or adult.
