The Big UGG Boots

Mortels Sheepskin Factory, Thornton, is home to the world's biggest UGG Boots. These big UGG boots are 13 times the size of a women's size 8 UGG boot. The Big UGG Boots are located in the Hunter Region of NSW.

The Big UGG Boots were erected Monday 20th April 2015. Tuesday 21st April 2015, the Hunter Region was ravaged by the equivalent of a category 2 Cyclone. This storm brought devastating winds and rains to the region. The Big UGG Boots, constructed from fibreglass and steel, weighing approximately 600 kilograms each, remained strong and fast despite the conditions immediately following their erection.

Australia’s iconic footwear are now a significant landmark, that offers a prime photo opportunity!

Pictured below shows the original colour of The Big UGG Boots. Every two years or so they change colour, sometimes a combination of solid colours and sometimes artwork, always depicting a theme. The current theme is "Mother Nature's Final Say", depicting Australia's weather events and the effects on our landscape. Can you pick the previous themes?
