Size Guide, Charts & Tips
Ordering your size is easy—just choose your usual shoe size.
As the manufacturer, we design our boots with patterned allowances for the wool pile and natural stretch of sheepskin. There’s no need to size up or down guessing the fit.
If you're unsure of your size, check the label inside your sports shoes, sneakers, or casual footwear, and refer to the conversion charts below if needed.
If you usually wear a half size, check the specific product page for guidance on whether to size up or down.
Size Labels in Product Listings: W means women, M means men, K means kids, and Y means youth.
Important Note on Fit:
Our size charts and measuring guides are designed for standard feet—feet that fit into regular shoes available at most stores. They don’t account for foot conditions or medical issues.
If you have a foot disorder, sensitivities, or struggle to find comfortable shoes, please contact us. We’re happy to help recommend the best UGG boots or slippers for your needs.
And remember larger child sizes often overlap with adult sizing. Our prices are based on the size of the footwear, not whether it's for a child or adult.

Understanding Shoe Sizing and Tips for UGG Sizing.
Men’s Shoe Sizes
There is no standard "Australian men's shoe size." In Australia, men’s shoes are sized using either UK or US sizing:- Dress/business shoes are usually in UK sizes.
- Sneakers and casual shoes are usually in US sizes.
If you're unsure of your size, check the size label on a pair of your sports shoes or sneakers.
Women’s Shoe Sizes
Similarly, there is no such thing as an "Australian women's shoe size." Sizing is either US or European (EUR), with US sizing being the most common. Check your sneakers or sport shoes to confirm your size.Children’s Shoe Sizes
There is no universal "Australian children's shoe size" either. Brands typically use US or UK sizing.- To check your child’s size, look at the label inside their sneakers or school shoes.
- If the label only shows "AU," it's unclear whether this refers to US or UK sizing. In that case, measure the sole length of an existing shoe and compare it to our size chart at the bottom of this page.
Sizing Up for Growth
We do not recommend sizing up more than one size for children. Boots that are too large may cause children to walk on the sides of the soles, leading to faster wear and potential foot problems.Growth Milestones
- Girls' feet generally stop growing in length by around 13 years old.
- Boys' feet typically stop growing by around 17 years old.
Child & Adult Size Overlap
Larger child sizes overlap with adult sizes. Our pricing is based strictly on shoe size, not whether the shoe is for a child or an adult. Why So Much Info?
We know—it’s confusing. With sizing systems like US, UK, EUR, Mondopoint, and the added complexity of men’s, women’s, and children’s categories, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.
At Mortels, we simplify things with our own sizing system. Since we manufacture unisex UGG boots and slippers, we’ve created our own Mortels sizing, which we have based primarily on US sizes, the most commonly used in Australia.
- We offer full sizes only, but each product page will recommend the best size for half-size wearers.
A Note on Fit & Width
The beauty of sheepskin is its natural ability to stretch and mould to your foot, especially in width. That said, a few things to keep in mind:
- If you usually size up in regular shoes due to foot width, stick with your usual shoe size when buying Mortels UGGs or slippers, not your foot length measurement.
- Our size charts and measuring guides assume typical feet—they don’t account for medical conditions or unusual foot shapes.
- If you have specific foot sensitivities or difficulty fitting into regular shoes, please contact us for personalised advice.
You do not need to contact us just because your feet are wide—our UGGs and slippers generally accommodate up to an E fitting due to sheepskin’s stretch.

How to measure your feet:
- Tape a sheet of paper to the floor, flush against the wall. Stand up straight on the sheet of paper with your heel up against the wall.
- Place a mark on the paper at the longest part of your foot. Repeat with the other foot, as right and left sizes may be different.
- Measure the heel (edge of paper)-to-toe length you marked for each foot.
- Taking the longest measurement (foot), use the conversion chart ABOVE to find your correct size.
Foot Notes:
- Centimetre measurements refer to actual foot length, not shoe sole length.
- Sizing charts are a guide only and don’t account for foot or leg width, high insteps, or foot conditions.
- Regular UGG boots and slippers typically suit up to an E fitting due to the stretch of sheepskin.
- If you wear a D or E fitting and your foot length suggests a smaller size than usual, it’s best to order your regular shoe size.
- Worn or stretched footwear cannot be returned due to incorrect sizing.
- UGGs should feel snug at first. Sheepskin will stretch and the wool will flatten - the uppers will shape your foot.
- Avoid sizing up unnecessarily—loose shoes may become too roomy over time.
- Larger child sizes overlap with adult sizes. Pricing is based on size, not age category.
